The tatami made from Shichito-i, a unique local specialty, is produced by only six remaining farmers, with an annual output of around 2,000 mats. The culture of tatami is fading due to changes in lifestyle. How can we preserve it? This product is filled with the desire to preserve local industries that are on the verge of disappearing! The most outstanding feature of Shichito-i setta is its refreshing comfort. It is breathable, does not stick to the skin, and provides a moderate massage effect. This is the same material used for judo mats, said to have been loved by Jigoro Kano, the father of judo. Shichito-i was also used in the judo competition of the previous Tokyo Olympics (1964). It is resistant to abrasion and bending, ensuring long-lasting use. The straps (hanao) are made of Cordura, a material commonly used in backpacks. Size guide (This is a guide as hanao footwear can vary in fit) ・XL: 25.0 cm to 27.5 cm Worn once for a short period. They were a bit small for me as I usually wear 28cm to 28.5cm.
