299.00 $
Description
PEARL Free Floating Series
14 x 3.5 Piccolo Snare Drum

Two-in-one functionality! Swap between copper and brass shells to suit your playing situation!
This is a gem that we hope will be purchased by someone who can make good use of it!

These copper and brass shells are in excellent condition for used items. (This is my personal opinion. Please judge the condition for yourself by looking at the photos.)

Many copper or brass shells found on the used market have numerous scratches, dirt, and rust on their outer surfaces, but this item is clean!
Furthermore, the current lineup of the Free Floating Series Piccolo Snare does not include a copper shell! This is a valuable item and I believe it has collectible value.

General Characteristics of Piccolo Snare Drums
Piccolo snare drums are said to be ideal as auxiliary snares to add impact to your beats.
Also, because the shell depth is shallow, the sustain is short and the response of the snares (wires) is fast, making them perfect for intricate stick work.
Additionally, the internal volume of the snare drum is smaller than that of a deep-shell snare, resulting in less low-end and volume compared to a deep-shell snare.

However, these characteristics can change depending on tuning, heads, and playing technique.
For example, even if a drummer who always hits the snare forcefully and a drummer who always emphasizes wrist snap with relaxed arm power play the same piccolo snare, the volume and tone will not be the same.

In many live performance situations, the snare drum is miked and the PA engineer creates a cool sound with effects! From a sound-shaping perspective, a piccolo snare with less excess sustain, overtones, and volume is easier to process.
As proof of this, many drummers use dampening during recordings!

Characteristics and Usage of Copper Shells
Rich in mid-low frequencies, with a warm and deep tone. I personally use the copper shell when the batter side tension is set lower!

Characteristics and Usage of Brass Shells
A bright and powerful sound with a well-controlled sharpness. I personally use the brass shell when the batter side tension is set higher.

While I personally believe the condition is good, this is a used item. Please purchase only if you understand that it is a used item.

No price reductions are planned.
