Megumi Oizumi, a resident of Tokushima City, is originally from Miyagi Prefecture. At the age of 23, she became captivated by Ryukyu glass in Okinawa. For four years, she trained at the studio of Moriyoshi Inamine, who is known as a leading figure in Ryukyu glass and who held an exhibition at the venue where this item was purchased. She then became independent at the age of 28. A year later, in 1979 (Showa 54), she moved to Tokushima upon her marriage. She established her studio and exhibition space and has since been creating glass works with a focus on the color blue.
