Long ago, I wondered how different bridge materials would affect the sound, so I purchased four types and compared them.
The materials are bamboo, plastic, ebony, and cow bone, in that order. The sound quality changes subtly. Since it depends on personal preference, I cannot determine which is superior. Please try them out.
By the way, my personal recommendation is the Red Bridge, made from aged bamboo, although it is more expensive. It has a particularly definitive effect on synthetic drumheads.
