For cats and very small dogs, we select aged, hard branches and peel the bark to create these toys.

Unlike other products, we do not hollow out the wood, scrape off the bark, or shave it, so we have received many happy comments about the hardness and how much dogs take to them!

We've made a set of two, one pear wood and one zelkova wood, for those who want to try both.

Left: Zelkova, approx. 15.3 x 2.4-2.5 cm

Please note that measurements are approximate and may vary.

Please compare the size to your dog's mouth size and the size of their current stuffed animals or balls.
For dogs in the teething stage, male Japanese dogs, and active breeds with strong chewing power, a thickness that they can just barely grip will allow them to enjoy it for a long time.

Pear wood branches are less likely to have splinters, and the wood shavings after chewing crumble like cork, so they are harmless if swallowed.
The bark of pear branches from Niigata Prefecture is peeled one by one and dried for two years.

As these are handmade by an amateur, they are cut with a chainsaw and the small branches are sanded with a belt sander (file). However, please understand that there may be missed spots or cracks/splits due to excessive drying.
As it is wood, their teeth will not be damaged, and as long as you choose the size carefully, there is no risk of injuring their mouths. However, please allow your pet to play under your supervision.
