Description
These are logs used for shiitake mushroom cultivation for 3-5 years, cut into pieces.
Made from domestic Konara oak logs.
The bark is significantly peeled and the logs are quite worn, but they might be suitable for insect rearing.
As shown in the photos, there are individual differences in size, diameter, length, mycelial coverage, and hardness.
In rare cases, insects may be present.
If this is a concern, please heat-treat the logs before use.
? Size
Length: Approximately 130mm
Diameter: Approximately φ90-80mm
Includes a total of 8 pieces.
? Hardness
Soft enough for a toothpick to penetrate, especially near the bark.
* Hardness varies by individual piece.
* These logs were used for shiitake cultivation, and the mycelium has thoroughly penetrated between the bark and the wood, indicating good decomposition.
* Can also be used as food for beetle larvae.
* Some people use them as perches for adult beetles.
? Precautions
* As these are fully decomposed logs, parts of the product may be fragile. Please handle with care upon receipt.
* Unprocessed for pests, so if this is a concern, please heat-treat before use.
* Due to the nature of the product, changes in size and texture, cracks, bark peeling, and the growth of mold or moss may occur over time.
* Will be shipped via Rakuraku Mercari便 or YuuYuu Mercari便.
