Trifoliate orange seedling, 6 plants, approximately 30cm in size, for use as rootstock for mandarins, lemons, etc.

These are trifoliate orange seedlings.

Seeds were sown in the spring of the year before last. (2 years have passed since germination)

There are 6 seedlings.

These are trifoliate orange seedlings planned for grafting next spring, but we have a few too many, so we are offering them for sale.

We will send 6 seedlings from the cluster shown in the photos (taken on April 24th).
Some are over 50cm tall, but they will not fit the packaging size for the 4th class mail. Therefore, the tips will be cut.
If side branches interfere with packaging, some will also be trimmed.

They will be around 30cm in size. (Even longer ones will be cut to about 30cm)
Including the roots, they should be around 40-50cm.

Trifoliate orange is a hardy plant, so if the roots are established, new shoots will emerge.
(New shoots will emerge even if pruned down to about 10cm)

Although all were planted at the same time, the sizes vary considerably because swallowtail butterfly larvae ate all the leaves.

The trunk thickness is about 5-10mm, so they may need to grow a bit more to be used as rootstock (next spring would be ideal).

These will be shipped as bare-root seedlings, with the roots kept moist.
They will be dug up on the day of shipping (or the day before).

The last photo shows seedlings sent previously.
The thicker ones have stems about 1cm in diameter.
These were quite mature trifoliate orange plants, and they were cut to about 50-60cm to reach this state.
This allowed them to fit within the size limits for 4th class mail.

They will be shipped via 4th class mail.

4th class mail is only shipped on Mondays.
(If Monday is a holiday, shipping will be on Tuesday.)
4th class mail does not have tracking.
It also takes time to arrive, so there is a possibility that the seedlings may weaken during transport.
Please understand this before bidding.
