*This is a mini seedling that has just begun to root, so it does not yet have a developed root system. It may be best to wait a little longer for more roots to grow before planting, or to plant it carefully without disturbing the soil.

Okawakame Cutting Mini Seedling
The leaves are delicious to eat. It tastes similar to Malabar spinach and is a valuable leafy green that is resistant to heat, especially in the summer.
Recommended recipe: Briefly blanch it, toss with mentsuyu (noodle dipping sauce), and it's a perfect side dish for rice.
It grows rapidly and becomes lush from late April to June as the temperature rises.
It's hardy and not easily affected by pests.
Suitable for both in-ground planting and container gardening.
You can also enjoy its flowers in the fall.
In winter, you can grow it indoors like a Pothos.

I overwinter mine on my balcony in the Kanto plains. In colder regions, you may want to bring it under an eave or, just to be safe, overwinter the cutting indoors by a window to prevent it from dying out.
