＜Features＞
Widely cultivated in southern China and Southeast Asia. It has long, slender leaves similar to sweet potato leaves, and the stems and leaves are harvested in midsummer. This is a healthy vegetable used in stir-fries and Chinese-style blanched dishes.
The stems are hollow inside.
＜Sowing and Planting＞
The seeds have a hard coat, so soak them in water overnight to absorb moisture before sowing. Sow in hills of 4-5 seeds per spot with a spacing of 10cm or more between plants from May to early July, covering with 1cm of soil. Alternatively, sow in rows 30cm apart. Thin to one plant per spot when 4-5 true leaves have developed. It is important not to let the soil dry out, so water frequently.
