Their Florette pattern, with its distinctive ship motif and registered design number, is characteristic of the Victorian era's popular aesthetic.  The term Depose or Déposé is a French word meaning registered, indicating that the design was officially registered to protect its intellectual property. This practice was common among manufacturers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to prevent imitation. The registered number, 1371, helps in dating the item more precisely within the period when Adderley was active and utilizing this registration system.
