Rare VTG‎ Red Leaf Lettuce Kale Shaped Teapot by Jay Willfred for Andrea Sadek

This vintage majolica pottery teapot is part of a series of teapots in vegetable themes designed by Jay Willfred for Andrea by Sadek; this particular one is made up of ruffle leafy lettuce with red tips forming the teapot. A little butterfly forms the handle to the lid. The company that made this was founded in 1936 by Charles and Norman Sadek; Jim was Charles' son. The namesake of the company, Andrea, was Jim's sister and Charles Sadek's daughter; both she and Jim were heavily involved in the design of Sadek's products. Made in the Philippines, this teapot is ideal for serving tea in a cozy and nostalgic manner, especially during the Easter occasion. Our small business sells new and used items.
